Ham Stuffing

Even the most seasoned ham needs additional spice.  Well this is the page with a smorgasbord of  useful resources for every amateur radio operator, just click on the link.

What would you do if you heard someone trying to report a serious injury crash or other emergencies on the radio from an operator who had no access to cell service? They were calling out via their 2-meter mobile radio for assistance for example.

Paul | Ki4MPZ has produced a call sheet listing all nearby local authorities phone numbers. He suggests that you keep a copy at the ready, so you can dial the correct number in seconds should you find yourself in this situation.

He has used it twice and both times it took almost 25 minutes for EMS & Rescue to reach the scene, so getting the info to the right dispatch center quickly can make a lot of difference.

The numbers on the list are the direct 10-digit numbers that you can dial from any phone anywhere to get directly to the PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point a/k/a 9-1-1 Center) for any particular county in most of our local amateur radio reception area. It also covers some of the State Highway Patrol numbers as well as a few of the hospital numbers.

Paul says he keeps his copy posted prominently in my his garage next to his radio and phone. For your own copy, just click the 911 logo above.
